early spring cleaning

the act of diving head first into a mess you can no longer tolerate, driven by an unyielding desire to curate chaos, akin to the desperate need for sunshine during the final days of a long and unrelenting winter.

over a decade agp, I was gifted a mixtape by a friend of mine — a burned cd with the words early spring cleaning written in red marker. I still listen to the songs in the order they were presented to me, even though I no longer have a cd player.

this collection of songs, and the given title, continues to resonate with me after all these years. I eventually adopted the phrase to describe my desire to shed excess and neatly arrange all that is left.
